KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Chong Wei is of the opinion that the main factor that needs to be taken into account when choosing men’s singles players for the Asia Team Championship in Alor Setar, Kedah, next February is they must have a fighter’s spirit. It’s not necessary that a player with a good ranking will have a good fighting spirit, there are times it’s the direct opposite,” said Chong Wei. “Except for me, the other men’s singles players will most definitely be young. If based on ranking, then Lee Zii Jia is the second best Malaysian singles player. I feel there is good in allowing young players to be put forth because they will get valuable, much needed exposure,” said Chong Wei who is holidaying at present and will resume training early next year.
