KUCHING: Schools wishing to hold replacement classes on May 17-18 have been advised to write a letter to the state Education Department immediately. Sarawak Pakatan Harapan chairman Chong Chieng Jen (pic) said the state Education Department would consider allowing schools in the state to hold extra classes this Thursday and Friday, provided there are "plenty of requests". The Stampin MP said this following a meeting with state Education sector chief (school management) Omar Mahli here Tuesday. The state government declared May 17 and 18 as additional public holidays in conjunction with the just-concluded 14th General Election. The declaration was made under Section 5 of the Public Holidays Ordinance.
