BNP’s Chittagong city unit President Shahadat Hossain and several other activists have been detained after a skirmish with police. Supporters of the BNP fought a running battle with police in front of the party’s office in Kazir Deuri on Thursday morning. Earlier in the day, police cordoned off the BNP office, ahead of a verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case against BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia and five others. Before the skirmish, police arrested eight BNP activists, including five women, from in front of the office.
