PETALING JAYA: The counterfeit baby formula incident has affected the good name of Chinese medicine halls in the country, an association of medicine shops said. The discovery of fake milk powder has raised concerns among parents nationwide, even though the products were only found in Johor. Loh said the profit margin for milk powder in Chinese medicine halls is small, but it is an important product to draw in customers. Some Chinese medicine halls are also members of the association. Hong said retailers were getting antsy over news reports that said the supposed fake milk powder was sourced from the northern states.
