AVIC is constructing the five-star hotel for Ethiopia's national air carrier Ethiopian Airlines (ET). "Ethiopian Airlines has a productive relationship with Chinese firms and relationships, with much of the airlines infrastructure built with the finances and expertise of Chinese firms," said Begashaw. In January this year, ET inaugurated a five-star luxury hotel constructed at cost of 65 million U.S. dollars by the AVIC. So far, Ethiopian Airlines already has five cargo and passenger flight destinations in China -- Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Chengdu and Guangzhou. Ethiopian Airlines became the first African carrier and the fourth in the world to fly to China back in 1973.
