Chinese father pleads for stolen phone with photos of dead baby - Regional

BEIJING: A father in central China has offered a reward of 2,000 yuan (RM1,290) to anyone who finds and returns his wife's stolen mobile phone, which contains thousands of photographs of their late infant daughter, who died from leukaemia. His wife's iPhone was stolen by a pickpocket on Feb 1 – the same day that the couple's eight-month-old daughter died, he said. "After battling leukaemia for 111 days, my beloved daughter decided to leave me and her mother behind," Tian wrote in the Weibo post. His heartfelt post immediately went viral on the internet, with many internet users posting messages pleading with the thief to return the phone to Tian and his wife. Tongji Hospital of Tongji Medical College, in Hankou, where Tian's daughter died, said it checked surveillance camera footage taken in the ward, but found nothing suspicious.
