Chinese embassy contributes 100,000 face masks for frontliners

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Ministry received 100,000 face masks from the Chinese embassy to be distributed to some 6,000 frontliners battling the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. China’s ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian handed over the face masks to Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall building yesterday. “We are thankful for the contribution as it will help to ensure our frontliners are well-equipped in the battle. Annuar said a portion of the masks would also be given to those working at the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market. “With the strong support of the Chinese embassy, we and several organisations launched this campaign to provide face masks to the people, including low-income groups, old folks homes, orphanages, as well as government officials, ” Chong said.
