In a second military provocation in a week, a Chinese warship made an “unsafe maritime interaction” after crossing the bow of a US Navy destroyer at a distance of 150 yards, forcing the destroyer to take evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision. The incident took place on Saturday as the American destroyer USS Chung-Hoon and the Canadian frigate HMCS Montreal were traveling in the international waters of the Taiwan Strait. The warship remained off the destroyer’s port bow after executing a second pass in front of the American warship’s bow at a distance of 2,000 yards. The Chinese warship appeared to head left to right in front of the warship’s path in the video. The Chinese harassment incidents occur in the South China Sea, the East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, and elsewhere.
