Chinese Companies Awarded Construction of Industry Parks in EthiopiaJanuary 21, 2017 - The Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) awarded the construction of three industrial parks in Addis Ababa and Jimma at a ceremony, which was held at Sheraton Addis, to three Chinese construction firms, according to the Reporter. CCCC, the Chinese construction firm, which has accomplished several major construction projects in Ethiopia, will construct the industry zone within nine months. The contracts for the three projects were signed by CEO of IPDC Sisay Gemechu and respective managers of the Chinese construction firms. Currently, the corporation is developing the Mekelle, Kombolcha, Adama and Dire Dawa industrial parks. Sisay hopes that the construction of the Adama and Dire Dawa industrial parks will be completed and become operational soon.
