A Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) vessel will pay a friendly visit to the Philippines starting January 13 to 17 upon the invitation of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines said China’s Coast Guard chief Maj. Gen. Wang Zhongcai would lead the delegation. “It is the first time a China Coast Guard vessel pays such a visit to the Philippines,” the embassy said in a statement on Sunday. During the visit, the PCG and CCG will conduct various activities such as cross deck visit, search and rescue and firefighting exercises, as well as friendly sports games. The third meeting of the Joint Coast Guard Committee (JCGC) between China and the Philippines will be held on January 14 to 16.
