Several cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing have tightened COVID restrictions as cases surge. The southern manufacturing hub of Guangzhou -- where nearly a third of the latest COVID cases were found -- has built thousands of temporary hospital rooms to accommodate patients.
