The surveyed unemployment rate in urban areas stood at 5.9 percent, official data showed today, Xinhua reports. The figure dropped by 0.3 percentage points from the previous month, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The urban unemployment rate stood at 5.1 percent in January and 5.3 percent in February, up 0.1 percentage points and 0.3 percentage points year on year, respectively, and higher than the 4.9-percent level recorded in December.
