Stocks are lower in Hong Kong today following a weekend flare-up of a record number of daily virus infections and further containment measures. The Hang Seng Index has shed 40.59 points, or 0.16 percent at 25,048.58. Shares in SMIC (0981) have shed .41 percent at HK$26.85. In mainland China, the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index jumped by 1.28 percent at 3,255.28, while the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index rallied is up by 0.44 percent at 2,168.47.
