China has rejected the terms proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to further investigate the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. WHO head Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on China to be more cooperative about the early stages of the outbreak, including with audits of laboratories. He said the plan was politicised and that China could not accept it. He said it was "impossible" for China to accept the terms, adding that the country had submitted its own origins-tracing recommendations. Yuan Zhiming, director of the National Biosafety Laboratory at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, also appeared at the press conference.
