2 The Doklam standoff was resolved on August 28 after about two-and-a-half months. Border tensions between Chinese and Indian armies have far from subsided, with Beijing continuing to maintain a sizeable presence of its troops near the venue of the 73-day-long Doklam standoff. There have been territorial disputes between China and Bhutan over Doklam and India has been staunchly supporting Thimphu over the issue. Sources said although Chinese troops have been deployed in the Doklam Plateau, they leave the area during winters.
