Hongkongers and Macau residents no longer need to go back to their city for renewing or replacing their Home Return Permits. Hongkongers and Macau residents no longer need to go back to their city for renewing or replacing their Home Return Permits. The National Immigration Administration today announced that starting October 10, Hong Kong and Macau residents can apply for renewal or replacement for their Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents, also known as the Home Return Permit, in any county-level city‘s Entry-exit Administration of Ministry of Public Security. Hong Kong and Macau residents previously have to return to their city to apply for reissue of their permit due to loss or expiration, after obtaining a one-time returning pass from the mainland authorities. The administration said with the increased number of returnees from Hong Kong and Macau, they have facilitated this process, allowing them to apply for replacement of their permit in the mainland with the same procedures as in their city, shorten their time and cost needed.-Photo: The National Immigration Administration
