China has warned Indian media that any move to play the 'Tibet card' to interfere in its internal affairs would damage India-China relations. China was reacting to Indian media's reaction to the US bill that demanded that Buddhist community should choose the next Dalai Lama. Chinese Embassy spokesperson Ji Rong said, "Indian media should take an objective stance on issues concerning China's sovereignty and territorial integrity." The response, China says is to the reports in the Indian media supporting the US legislation and advocating 'Indian interference in China's Tibet (Xizang) affairs'. The development comes amid the nearly eight-month military standoff between Indian and Chinese troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
