India and China have agreed that their troops should 'quickly disengage' from a tense border standoff that has lasted months. The Chinese troops were 'expecting close combat with the Indian Army soldiers', Indian media suggested - raising fears of a repeat of the deadly clash in June. Officially no shots have been fired in the area since 1975 when four Indian troops were killed in an ambush.
