BEIJING—China is raising its military budget by about 7% this year over last year’s level, a spokeswoman for the national legislature said Saturday. National People’s Congress spokeswoman Fu Ying said military spending will be equivalent to roughly 1.3% of China’s economy. Ms. Fu didn’t provide further details on the defense budget for this year.
