Valiant Entertainment, which controls the third-largest corporate-owned superhero universe behind industry juggernauts DC (Warner Bros) and Marvel (Disney), was acquired today by DMG Entertainment, a $6 billion production company best known for its ability to bring US-based franchise films to the crucial Chinese market. DMG and its owner/CEO, Dan Mintz, already had a controlling 57% stake in Valiant. Film projects featuring several of those characters are already in various stages of production, both by independent producers and in deals involving Valiant itself. Additional feature film projects, including “Shadowman,” “Archer & Armstrong,” “Eternal Warrior,” “X-O Manowar” and others yet to be disclosed publicly, are also well underway. It is likely that DMG sees imminent potential for all of these projects, and that was behind the move to consolidate ownership of the company.
