Taiwan-based carrier China Airlines has announced that it will exercise the option to purchase eight Boeing 787-9 passenger aircraft to be delivered from 2026 onwards. Purchase historyChina Airlines had previously decided on the firm purchase of 16 Boeing 787-9 passenger aircraft fitted with the General Electric GEnx engine back in August 2022 with deliveries to commence in 2025. China Airlines had previously introduced brand new fleets of the 777-300ER, A350-900 and A321neo and 787 aircraft. About the Boeing 787-9The Boeing 787-9 passenger aircraft is the aircraft maker’s next-generation flagship product. The China Airlines 787-9 passenger aircraft are to be configured for three cabin classes, namely Premium Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.
