South Korea also agreed not to accept additional launchers — or join a regional missile defense system with the United States and Japan. These Chinese alternatives in global development finance (Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank and New Development Bank ) and regional trade (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) promote China’s economic and political dominance in the region.
