Today, with proud parents Jikesh and Meena Murmu by her side, Chhoti Kiran seems to have inched closer to her dream. The Murmu couple, who played footfall during their youth like most tribal youngsters, represent the changing face of parenthood in Jharkhand. Parents from remote districts with upwardly mobile aspirations are courageously banking on sports to give their children a head start in life. JSSPS senior administrative official Vikrant Malhan said the new inductees would be formally enrolled at their academies from April 1. The selected children will undergo three months of conditioning to know their aptitude and be trained in the discipline accordingly.
