A car was driven into the water at Bucklands Beach on Sunday night (file photo). Two children were rescued by a member of the public after the vehicle they were in crashed into the sea in east Auckland. One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the children were safety removed from the car. A bystander said the car was "totally submerged" in the water, and several police officers went into the water to try and get kids out of the car.
