New Delhi, Jul 12 (PTI) The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has asked authorities to identify "vulnerable" areas that have reported multiple cases of missing children, an official said today. The DCPCR held a meeting with all district magistrates, SDMs, and senior officers from the Delhi Police and the labour department. In the meeting, it was discussed that resident welfare associations (RWAs) and NGOs could work as watchdogs and suggest preventive measures to the sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) for corrective action. DCPCR chairperson Ramesh Negi said that with the active involvement of district magistrates and SDMs there would be better results in tracking of missing children and in the eradication of child labour as the long term strategy. The commission "desired that SDMs should conduct surprise checks" on units engaging children, the official said.
