IPOH: A nine-year-old girl was flung out from a lorry during a chase with the police near Simpang Pulai here. Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Ali Tamby said the girl suffered mild injuries while her lorry driver father was arrested. ACP Mohd Ali said the 37-year-old driver led the police on a 5km car chase during the 4.30pm incident on Wednesday. ACP Mohd Ali said the man had also attempted to seize a firearm from one of the policemen before he was apprehended with the help of the public. On another matter, ACP Mohd Ali said a total of 668 accidents were reported in the district with nine deaths during Ops Selamat between May 29 and June 12.
