Karim, a five year old child from Masied Village in al-Adwa city, died on Sunday after accidentally falling down a water pipe installed in desert land near Minya, at the Third village of the Graduates. Governorate staff used excavators and loaders to lift the tube and recover Karim’s body. Investigations ruled out any criminal acts behind the incident. The public prosecution handed over the body to Karim’s family and ordered criminal investigation to listen to eyewitnesses and wrap up their work. Edited translation from Al-Masry Al-Youm
