The India Today State of the States Conclave 2017 mirrored how the image of each state in the country is etched in people's mind. And presenting their turnaround stories on politics of development were the chief ministers at the conclave. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, "My government believes in keeping politics off development and focussing on development of people." Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said, "We have managed to improve the state's sex ratio to 913, our average after three decades. The CM pointed out that as opposed to 33 per cent representation of women in local bodies, the state now has 42 per cent of women in representation.
