Md Aminul Islam, the newly-appointed chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), on Tuesday said strictlegal action will be taken if anyone associated with the tribunal is found involved in corruption. The chief prosecutor said: "During my tenure, if I, any prosecutor, or anyone associated with the tribunal is involved in corruption, strict legal measures will be taken. We will prove that this tribunal is completely corruption-free and will ensure justice in line with international standards." The government on Monday appointed Md Aminul Islam as ICT chief prosecutor, granting him the status, rank and privileges of the attorney general of Bangladesh. The Solicitor Wing of the Law and Justice Division issued a gazette notification in this regard and also cancelled the appointment of Advocate Muhammad Tajul Islam as the ICT chief prosecutor.
