(The Washington Post)With President Obama set to leave office in a few days, the Chicago Cubs visited the White House on Monday, becoming the last championship team to be feted during his administration. Obama is a Chicagoan and, although he is a diehard White Sox fan, the Cubs did something truly special last October, ending a 108-year drought by winning the World Series. “It’s no surprise that I support President Obama,” Laura Ricketts, a prominent supporter of Hillary Clinton, said (via the Chicago Tribune). Really, can we make it work?’ ”Now, like that World Series trophy, the visit became a reality.
