RAIPUR: A cache of 255 silver coins, dating back to 1862 British era with Queen Elizabeth's image embedded on them, has been discovered by a farmer while ploughing his fields on Thursday in Surajpur district of North Chhattisgarh.While starting off his day in his agriculture land, Phuleshwar Rajwade stumbled upon these coins in village Pandri when he and his nephew Surajpratap were ploughing their fileds. As the news created ripples in the village and the village sarpanchlearnt about it, he reached the spot with the local police, which confiscated the treasure.This, however, saddened the farmers, who were aiming to become rich by selling these coins. So to fix the problem, the farmers dug up the portion to find a bronze metal pot from underneath, which shocked them deeply.And finally on opening the lid of the pot, they found several sparkling silver coins on which the image of Queen Elizabeth was embedded.The duo could not resist temptation of sharing the joy of finding the treasure with their friends and relatives.
