Supporters of two groups — Ulka and 69, both shuttle-train based Chhatra League groups — attacked each other and blasted handmade bombs on the campus leaving at least 10 students injured. The Ulka group activists claimed 69 group’s vice-president Mansur Alam, publications affairs secretary Iqbal Tipu and joint secretary Abu Torab had picked up Nishan around 10:30pm and released him around 12:30am Saturday. However, Mansur denied the allegation and said: "We do not know about the abduction incident and learned it from Facebook posts. If anyone blame us, I must say it was done out of vengeance."
