Chhatra League asks DU administration to reopen dorms before holding exams

"To reduce session jam and let students sit for competitive job exams, it is necessary to hold final examinations soon. But doing so without ensuring students’ accommodation is unfair, at odds with students’ interests, and in no way guardian-like behaviour,” read the statement. “We think that reopening the dormitories for examinees, ensuring health protocols and holding exams at different levels is the best solution,” the statement, signed by Chhatra League’s DU unit President Sonjit Chandra Das and General Secretary Saddam Hussain, added. Meanwhile, the DU unit of the Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad also asked the university administrative body to reconsider its decision and reopen the dormitories before arranging exams. On December 10, the DU administration decided to hold the final exams of the last semesters of honours and master’s degrees from December 26 to avoid a session jam.
