The chemicals were fully moved from the area yesterday. The stockpiles of the chemicals were shifted by firefighters and shop owners under the supervision of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), with assistance from police, after a two-day effort to this end. Sources said, several trucks and pick-up vans were used in this regard, which altogether made 21 trips to ship the chemicals from Churihatta to Keraniganj. The operation came to an end around 4pm yesterday. Nasir Uddin Ahmed, a DSCC official, who was tasked with the shifting, said: “Shop owners and Fire Service men, with the help of police, took the chemicals to Keraniganj.
