Evelyn Cheluget has been appointed acting Director General of Immigration Services taking over from Alexander Muteshi who has proceeded on leave. In an Internal Memo dated May 12, Muteshi asked the department to accord her full support. "From May 15, 2023 Evelyn Cheluget will be taking over as the Director General of Immigration Services as I proceed on leave," Muteshi said. Chelugut has been the deputy Director General for the past three months. The Immigration department under the Ministry of Interior is one of those that are regarded sensitive and key in the security sector.
