The Blues have been forced to operate within strict Government sanctions due to outgoing owner Roman Abramovich's connection with Russian president Vladimir Putin. The LA Dodgers owner is now awaiting Government approval and the completion of the Premier League's owners' and directors' test. Owned by Singapore-based Amber Group, the digital asset platform will reportedly pay £20m per year for the sponsorship agreement. This agreement comes despite the tight sanctions currently placed upon Chelsea, with the report indicating the deal was actually signed in January prior to the Government-enforced restrictions.
