Chelsea facing potential two transfer window ban for 'breaking rules on signing foreign players under 18'

Chief among those is a ban on transfers, a fate suffered by Spanish trio Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. They were each hit with a two-window ban from signing players, although Real's was reduced to just one after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Clubs are disallowed from signing foreign players under the age of 18 unless their parents have emigrated for reasons not connected to football. A Chelsea spokesman told The Guardian: “Chelsea FC complies with all Fifa statutes and regulations when recruiting players.”
