They have been the Premier League's biggest spenders over the last few years but are yet to welcome any new signings this month despite needing more reinforcements. Mauricio Pochettino has endured a torrid debut campaign in charge of Chelsea, who are rooted firmly in mid-table after earning just nine Premier League wins from 21 games. Chelsea are thought to be keen on landing another striker this month, given that summer signing Nicolas Jackson has picked up more yellow cards than Premier League goals this season. Another potential striker target could emerge in the form of Karim Benzema, who has recently been linked with a move back to Europe after joining Saudi club Al-Ittihad over the summer. They already have first-hand experience of Benzema’s firepower after he scored six goals against them in Champions League games in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
