Cheapest supermarket for your Christmas dinner food shop worked out

That's according to research from price comparison service Alertr , which took a look at the cost of festive essentials. They found a few surprises, with Waitrose ranked cheapest for its Gammon and beef joints, while Iceland was cheapest for honey. Alertr's Andy Barr said: "It is easy to overspend at Christmas, especially when it comes to the food as you want to make sure there is enough to around. Given Britons tend to have eight people round the table for dinner on Christmas Day, that gave a price for feeding them with Morrisons food of £52.75. Other supermarkets - including Aldi and Lidl - were also excluded because the full shopping list wasn't available online from those stores.
