In New Zealand, women give birth to the most children between 30 and 34, but this was not always the case. Stats NZ data from 1967 found birth rates skyrocketed when women were in their 20s. For every 2000 women between the age of 20 and 29, there were over 400 births recorded that year, more than double the amount of births recorded today among women in their 20s.
