Charlie Gard's parents take baby Oliver for first visit to brother's 'forever bed'


Parents Connie Yates and Chris Gard were overwhelmed with emotion when they took little Oliver to their firstborn's final resting place. Miss Yates, 34, told the Daily Mail: "I was cuddling [Oliver] and saying, 'This is your big brother Charlie. (Image: PA)But the little tot's parents don't want him to be forever known as "Charlie Gard's brother" - though they do want him to know all about his big brother's legacy. Mr Gard described the moment Oliver visited the grave as "bittersweet because obviously we would have loved them to have met in person". The southwest London couple have also set up the Charlie Gard Foundation for innovative research, family support, and to raise awareness about mitochondrial-related diseases.
