In a statement, Charlie’s mother, Connie Yates, said: “Our beautiful little boy has gone. Vice President Pence (@VP) Saddened to hear of the passing of Charlie Gard. Earlier this month, Pope Francis said he had been following the case closely and hoped that Charlie’s parents would be able to “accompany and treat their child until the end”. Some of the Charlie’s Armysupporters made death threats against Gosh doctors and staff, earning condemnation from Gard and Yates. A hospital spokeswoman said on Friday: “Everyone at Great Ormond Street Hospital sends their heartfelt condolences to Charlie’s parents and loved-ones at this very sad time.”
