The charity organises free surgeries for children. Every three minutes a child somewhere in the world is born with a cleft palate and in rural areas children with cleft palates have very limited access to treatment, Operation Smile Thailand reported. Operation Smile Thailand has helped children in the farthest corners of the Kingdom in 2016, with medical missions to Mae Hong Son, Yasothon and Nong Khai provinces. To meet the growing demand for safe and effective treatment solutions, Operation Smile Thailand is funding hospitals |that have full-time plastic surgeons. The other benefit of the initiative is that surgeons are available at hospitals for follow-up surgeries and post-operative care when necessary.
