Chaos reigns as two-way traffic returns to EVR Road

more-inTraffic was thrown out of gear on Monday on EVR High Road, also known as Poonamallee High Road, as police opened the stretch for two-way traffic from Sunday. In view of CMRL work on the stretch between Gengu Reddy subway and Ega junction, one-way traffic movement was introduced in November 2011 on roads such as EVR Salai, Mayor Ramanathan Road (East), Mayor Ramanathan Road, Dr.Gurusamy Road and Gengu Reddy subway. Two-way traffic is now allowed from Gengu Reddy subway to Ega on EVR Salai, Mayor Ramanathan Road, Gengu Reddy subway and Gurusamy bridge with certain modifications. It took road-users over an hour to cross a distance of about 6 km from Kilpauk to the Ritherdon Road junction.
