The upgrades include cycle paths, seating areas and viewing platforms around the Downtown Ferry Terminal. Changes are coming to Auckland’s ferry services following the opening of six new piers in the city centre. Six new piers have been created, resulting in the renumbering of those at the downtown ferry terminal, Auckland Transport (AT) has advised. Meanwhile, travel on most public transport is free on Saturday, which AT said was a good opportunity for people to explore the region, including the new downtown area. The Coromandel, Tiritiri Matangi and Rangitoto Island ferries will move to pier 13, with Rakino Island services moving to pier 14.
