A teenage boy was beaten with a hammer for allegedly stealing a laptop at Koraish village of Kachua upazila in Chandpur on Tuesday. Victim Md Habib, 15, is the son of Jamal Hossain, a fruit seller at Kachua Bazar. Habib’s family claimed Jamal had given Habib Tk10,000 and asked him to buy some fruits from a wholesaler. When Habib was going to the shop of wholesaler Md Jashim, two youths – Md Rasel and Md Shohag of the same village – brutally assaulted him with a hammer accusing him of stealing a laptop. Later, police with the help of locals rescued Habib and sent him a local hospital.
