It is the first time there have been five English teams in the knockout stages of the Champions League and there is every chance there could still be five in the quarter-finals. Liverpool and Manchester City are almost guaranteed their places after thumping first-leg wins against Porto and Basel respectively. Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United all drew their first legs so their fates are more in the balance as the second legs approach.
