Champions League could be restructured in 2024

According to Marca , the new 32-team tournament would feature relegation with eight of the sides being demoted to the Europa League for the following season. It has been reported that the Premier League and La Liga strongly oppose the proposals, with Real Madrid and Barcelona the only two Spanish clubs out of nine European Club Association members in favour. The Premier League released a statement on Wednesday after its annual general meeting in Harrogate and reiterated their objection to the plans, which have been led by Juventus president Andrea Agnelli. "Critically, qualification for the Champions League and the Europa League must continue to depend on current domestic performance."
