The six Premier League teams involved in the Champions League all receieved a large financial windfall by progressing out of the league phase of the competition. The total prize pot for the Champions League is roughly £3.8bn, with every club participating in the league phase getting £16.1m for participating. Sides finishing first to eighth also earn a £1.7m bonus, with teams in ninth to 16th getting £870,000. Clubs also pocket extra money from broadcast revenue after Uefa introduced a "value pillar" that splits earnings. The boost in funds come at a time of growing financial disparity in the game, with 15 Premier League clubs in the top 30 of the Deloitte Football Money League table.
