Shiv Shankar with Horen Tai after winning the Jorhat races last year. This morning too, Horen scanned the sapori along with other villagers for Shiv Shankar, but in vain. It's not just Shiv Shankar or Bogi. British planters had started the Jorhat races with the hybrid horses used by them for transportation. A unique feature of the Jorhat races is that the riders are adept at riding bareback.
